I have degrees in finance and management and I have spent the last ten years managing small and medium size companies. I have held different senior managerial positions at ZYDO, an Italian jewelry company, for five years. At ZYDO I worked in production, finance and marketing and learned valuable skills in all those areas that could be applied to all types of companies.
As VP of marketing, I oversaw and developed all of the companies marketing efforts, understanding the challenges that a medium size B2B company faces and fine tuning the tools that are necessary to a brand to stand out.
In the last five years, I have been the CEO of Italian Jewelry of America Inc., ZYDO's affiliated company in New York. I managed the distribution of the ZYDO Collection throughout the country, participating in over 100 trade shows and events, and have been working with some of the best retailers in the US. These include various mom and pop stores, independent retailers, and big department stores.
In the process, I observed a variety of store concepts and designs, managing styles, staffing matters, and marketing strategies. I have also realized that many store owners have an antiquated view of retailing and are in search of new ideas.
In this blog I write about all these areas developing new and fresh retail concept that can apply to all types of retailers.
